Default VoS hero

I've been playing around with hero VoS bars. I use two dervs in my 7H setup with myself as AP-MoP, but I noticed the heroes keep stripping VoS, even with 3 FEs. I'm using TMS and Eremite's to get the full amount of triggers on VoS/MoP/Splinter, but this is bugging me.

I would have thought heroes would be smart enough to only teardown Flash Enchantments. Couldn't that be implemented?

If I wasn't too lazy to look up what VoS is - and you weren't too lazy to type it out at least once, I might have an answer.

I assume he means Vow of Strength
"Elite Enchantment Spell. For 15 seconds, whenever you attack a foe with your scythe, you deal 10...22...25 slashing damage to all adjacent foes. "

Btw, many of these abbreviations can be used directly on both Wikis

The quick answer to the poster's question is that not all enchants that you may want to strip are flash enchantments. While is most cases the flash enchants are meant to be quick to put up and quick to teardown, I think it was meant more to help human players than to buff up heroes.

I think an AI update of that nature and the time it would take would not benefit the greater community.

That's one feature I'm expecting with the upcoming melee AI update. As it is now, though, in order to preserve VoS you're better off either microing teardowns or not using them at all.

Derv heroes (and many other classes) are... pretty rubbish in general.

AI is good enough to do a basic job with limited skills that get used more or less ok, heroes were never meant to emulate human behaviors with skills (nor would it be possibly without an a ridiculous amount of coding).

You will find a plethora of pages around the web which detail which skills use reasonably well, and which they simply suck at, so I suggest a combination of research and the old suck-it-and-see approach.

@Quaker; why would it be beneficial to know I was using AP-MoP if I was talking about Vow of Silence?

If you can't use Eremite's or Twin Moon Sweep, there's next to no point in using VoS. If you hit 3 foes with eremite's do they take 9 packets of damage+MoP? It's still worth using VoS, TMS and Eremite's while it lasts, it's just annoying when it gets torn down.

Is there an expected melee AI update? I hope they focus on pet and dagger chain AI too.

Eh, even without Eremite's or TMS a VoS derv is still the best spiker you can get for an N/A (apart from a bunch of Bone Fiends, but that's too unreliable). With VoS up, every attack will get you four triggers of MoP (assuming you're hitting three targets). With Splinter Weapon, that can become six triggers. Add in a fast-activating attack skill or two and it's really not that bad - and you don't have to worry about losing VoS.

Edit: Also, AFAIK, Eremite's is like WWA in that it only hits adjacent targets once, even though you're using a scythe. So against three targets it wouldn't produce nine triggers of VoS, but only three.
